VeEX: Optical Test Tool for Fiber Construction and Maintenance

Feb. 27, 2025
VeEx’s Remote Optical Test Tool (OTT) enables new efficiencies in FTTH testing.

VeEx’s Remote Optical Test Tool (OTT) allows a single technician to verify the received power levels on Point-to-Multi-Point networks (1x16), reducing the need to travel back and forth between OLT/F1/F2/drops segments of the ODN. The OTT allows a single technician to connect the OLT to different ODN fibers and complete testing by remotely switching the OLT signal to the correct port of the fiber being tested, thus creating more efficiency in testing new construction. By incorporating remote port switching and streamlining the power measurement process, technicians can focus on cleaning and connecting all the fibers at the start of the test cycle and then verifying and documenting the power levels at each multi-point site.
JUDGE'S COMMENT: "VeEX's Remote Optical Test Tool streamlines PON network testing to minimize the number of technicians and truck rolls necessary to verify network performance or troubleshoot failures."
