IdeaTek bolsters capabilities with Rise Broadband Kansas asset purchase

Nov. 14, 2024
The acquisition gives the growing fiber and wireless broadband provider access to more customers in four new communities.

IdeaTek, a Kansas internet provider, has acquired Rise Broadband’s Kansas operations. This move expands IdeaTek’s customer base in Marion, Harvey, Butler and McPherson counties.

As it moves forward with the acquisition, IdeaTek will upgrade Rise Broadband’s network by transitioning towers to an all-fiber-fed infrastructure. This upgrade will provide customers with even more reliable and consistent connections.

IdeaTek’s wireless technology will also enhance internet performance, deliver fewer disruptions, and provide a more stable connection.

This acquisition is about enhancing its network presence to serve more residents and businesses in Kansas.

IdeaTek has deployed over 6,500 miles of fiber and built 150 fixed wireless towers, serving customers in 110 Kansas communities.

Daniel Friesen, co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer for IdeaTek, said, “We believe every Kansan deserves access to affordable, reliable internet, no matter where they live,” and this “acquisition brings us closer to that goal in central Kansas.”
