AFL: Fujikura 45S Cladding Alignment Fusion Splicer

Sept. 25, 2024

AFL Fujikura’s 45S cladding alignment fusion splicer changes how technicians splice fiber in small to mid-fiber count applications. This Fujikura splicer debuts an improvement to the fusion splicing process with the ability to prepare and load both fibers simultaneously. After preparation, the 45S patented sheath clamps enable simultaneous loading of both fibers into the splicer with one fiber in each hand. The user can press the sheath clamp base down to close it while positioning the fiber in the v-grooves. This enables one-handed operation and saves operational costs.

JUDGE’S COMMENT: “The 45S cladding alignment fusion splicer revolutionizes fiber splicing in small to mid-fiber count applications by significantly reducing splicing cycle times through its dual sheath clamps and automated processes.”
