Broadband and optical movers and shakers: Millennium names Suing as its new CFO; LightRiver adds Hayduk to its board

This week, the broadband and optical industry witnessed shifts as several companies made vital management changes in their top ranks.

The broadband and optical industry witnessed shifts in their management ranks as Millennium hired Noreen Suing as its new CFO and LightRiver added 30-year telecom veteran John Hayduk to its board.

Millennium names Noreen Suing as its new CFO
A broadband solutions provider, Millennium has tapped Noreen Suing as its new chief financial officer. She brings three decades of financial leadership experience in the distribution, engineering, and rent/lease sectors. The company said her commitment to fiscal excellence and strategic acumen are perfectly aligned with Millennium's goals of enhancing broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities.

LightRiver adds Hayduk to its board
LightRiver has appointed 30-year telecom veteran John Hayduk to its board of directors. Hayduk brings his experience to the growing large-scale software development and network engineering operations. Hayduk most recently served as President and COO of Tata Communications, managing operations and overseeing the company's financial growth, new service launches, customer service, and productivity improvements, following his stint there as CTO. At LightRiver, Hayduk will help foster the growth of LightRiver's Managed Services, Software portfolios, and messaging. Hayduk earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Information Networking from Carnegie Mellon University. Earlier in his career, Hayduk served as SVP of Network Systems at Telcordia and Director of Application Development at Bellcore.

Graybar promotes Carroll and Tierney to new leadership roles
Graybar was named Mike Carroll, VP of construction sales, and Michael Tierney was named VP of industrial, utility, and broadband sales. Carroll has 29 years with Graybar and is currently the Director of business development. He has extensive experience within Graybar's field and corporate organizations, where he advanced through roles in sales, branch management, national market management, and district sales leadership. Carroll is also involved with several construction industry organizations at the national level. Tierney joined Graybar in 2011 and has over 35 years of industry experience. He currently serves as VP of Strategic Accounts. Before his current position, he successfully led Graybar's electric utility business across the eastern United States and was responsible for the company's strategic accounts industrial sales team.

Harmonic reappoints Dan Whalen to its board
Harmonic has reappointed Dan Whalen to the company's board of directors, which he previously served on from 2021 to 2023. Whalen was most recently the president and CEO of ATX Networks, a global provider of network infrastructure systems and commercial video solutions. Before ATX, he served as the chief product officer at Adtran. Before Adtran, Whalen held multiple leadership positions at Arris International, including senior vice president of sales, senior vice president and general manager of global services, and president of network & cloud. He has also held key positions at Cisco Systems, Comdisco, KPMG and Bell Atlantic. Whalen holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology.
