US Signal bolsters Michigan presence with Detroit North data center acquisition
US Signal has taken another step to fortify its position in Michigan and the broader data center market by reaching a deal to acquire a Detroit area-based data center.
Located at 1035 West Entrance Drive, Auburn Hills, Michigan, this acquisition move strengthens US Signal's presence in the Detroit metro area and establishes its presence with a third data center in this market, the fifth in Michigan and the sixteenth across the United States.
This is US Signal's third acquisition this summer, following its purchase of One Neck and an Indianapolis data center.
John White, Chief Operating Officer at US Signal, said, "With three facilities in Metro Detroit now fully operational and in high demand, we are poised for growth."
Ready for business
For existing and new US Signal data center customers, there’s plenty to like about this data center.
Encompassing 76,000 square feet, the Detroit North Data Center is ready for immediate lease. It offers 4MW of available power with the ability to expand up to 8MW. This facility is set for substantial enhancements, including over 5 megawatts of critical IT load capabilities, 24/7 staffing, and top-tier multi-level security measures, meeting rigorous tier III standards for redundancy and reliability.
Designed to accommodate the surging demand for AI and high-power consumption applications, the facility boasts 17,000 square feet of raised floor space, with ample room for expansion.
Also, the Detroit data center US Signal is acquiring adheres to high compliance standards, being SSAE 18-audited, HIPAA-compliant, and PCI-certified, ensuring utmost security for all hosted data.
Enhancing the workforce
Besides offering more excellent options for its customer base, US Signal’s purchase has the benefit of creating new local job opportunities.
To support increased operational needs, US Signal plans to augment its workforce in the market, adding office space and welcoming several new employees to meet the evolving needs of its customer base.
US Signal will also build a 6-mile fiber ring around the Detroit North Data Center. This will further bolster connectivity and ensure seamless, high-speed data exchange for its clients.
Following the facility's renovations this fall, an open house event will be announced. The commitment from several of US Signal's clients to utilize space within the new Detroit North Data Center highlights the strong market demand for premium digital infrastructure services.
White said he sees the Detroit North facility as a critical facility that provides customers with another option for data center and network services. "Drawing from our success with the Indianapolis North Data Center, the Detroit North facility is on track to become a pivotal hub for network connectivity and digital infrastructure services,” he said.
