FBA 2024 fiber broadband product roundup part two

Aug. 2, 2024
Vendors who exhibited at the Fiber Connect 2024 show showcased new innovations in fiber, network management, and construction and workforce management tools.

Nashville--During this week’s Fiber Connect show, several broadband and optical networking industry networking players released upgrades and new products designed to help service providers simplify network operations and customer activation.

This second product showcase highlights new innovations from Actifai/Sonar, CHR, ETI, Render Networks and STL.

Also, take a look at the first round of our Fiber Connect product roundup.

Construction and workforce management

ETI launches AI-powered field service and workforce management solution
ETI Software Solutions unveiled a new field service and workforce management solution for telcos and internet service providers (ISPs). Leveraging predictive artificial intelligence (AI), the solution boosts technician productivity through resource scheduling optimization (RSO) and enhances customer satisfaction. The AI capabilities can predict work duration and suggest proactive maintenance to strengthen operations and save technicians’ time. Automated Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO) is a feature that automates and schedules multiple jobs simultaneously, maximizing resource use and minimizing travel time.

Render boosts field adoption and productivity with expanded mobile capabilities
Render has expanded its mobile application suite and device choice, advancing its mobile-first approach and empowering field crews to document and close out construction, connection, or maintenance work with their preferred smartphone or tablet device. Crews can now edit proposed tasks and redline changes on any device, capturing all work completed on the network to support highly accurate progress reporting and as-built handover. The company claims this flexibility of device choice increases field adoption, and the ability to capture data and network changes in real-time increases field-to-office productivity.

Fiber cable

STL unveils advanced high-density optical fiber cables
STL offers new high-density 864F Micro Cables, targeted at U.S.-based broadband providers. The 864F Micro cable can pack 864 fibers in a cable diameter of 11.4 mm. It employs STL’s bend-insensitive HD A2 200-micron fiber. STL also introduced its Intelligently Bonded Ribbon (IBR) Armored cable. The compact design ensures ease of installation, while precise ribbon geometries in IBR bundles deliver excellent mass fusion splicing outcomes. This UV-protected, lightweight, and flexible cable is a pioneering solution for diverse installation environments.

OSS/BSS

Actifai and Sonar Software launch integrated AI-based broadband subscriber solution
Sonar Software and Actifai jointly launched Sonar + Actifai. The partnership embeds Actifai’s AI-powered e-commerce and phone-sales technology into Sonar’s billing and operations platform. The joint approach removes typical barriers to technology adoption, enabling Sonar’s extensive customer base to access the AI enhancements seamlessly. BSS/OSS constraints have been a common roadblock to small and greenfield providers’ adoption of the technology. The Sonar + Actifai partnership overcomes this challenge, further democratizing AI technology to providers of all sizes. Existing Sonar customers expect to hear from their customer relations manager about the Sonar + Actifai opportunity beginning in the third quarter of 2024.

CHR Solutions Launches Omnia360E
CHR Solutions debuted Omnia360E, its latest OSS/BSS platform. Omnia360E is an open platform that offers customizable e-commerce capabilities, including one-touch self-service tools to provide the optimal customer experience and automated functionality. The platform supports seamless API integration with evolving generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications, lead generation, and a fully automated billing process.
