RTA Wholesale extends its reach into Miami

July 16, 2024
The growing provider has established another data center spot to address customer needs more effectively.

Rural Telecommunications of America (RTA) is expanding again with the opening of another Data Center located in the Equinix M1 facility in Miami, Florida.

By moving co-location facilities closer to its Direct Internet Access (DIA) Wholesale customers, RTA's gigFAST NETWORK® provides internet speeds up to 100 Gbps, low latency, immediate security resolutions (free DDOS protection), and network redundancy.

Perhaps even more impressive is its list of provider partners. RTA works with Tier 1 traditional fiber operators and content providers, including AT&T, Amazon Web Services, Cogent, GTT, Lumen, and others.

RTA’s gigFAST NETWORK® consists of about 13,000 Fiber Route Miles and is proud to be in the top 1% of all BGP-speaking networks in the United States (based on BGP adjacencies). A vital element of the network was that it was built with routing efficiency in mind.

RTA’s network has Points of Presence in many major Metros across the US. It also participates in several major Internet Exchanges and have several Private Interconnects with many major traffic peers.

RTA now has 16 co-location data center facilities across the U.S. Each data center has redundant paths and power and meets or exceeds U.S. security standards.

The timing of the new data center location coincides with RTA's continuing efforts to attract new providers to its wholesale network program.

"With Internet Service Providers in the Southeast U.S. now joining RTA's gigFAST NETWORK®, we needed to open a co-location facility in Miami to facilitate this rapid growth,” said Donald Workman, RTA's COO.
