Johnson Controls fortifies data center market position with new global unit

June 11, 2024
The new global organization will focus on delivering integrated data center solutions.

Johnson Controls (JCI) has created a new dedicated Global Data Center Solutions organization, solidifying its stake in the growing data center market segment.

The company said the new unit is focused specifically on operationalizing Johnson Controls' global scale and providing integrated solutions to data center customers worldwide to support the company's business segments.

Todd Grabowski, president of Global Data Center Solutions, will lead the Global Data Center Solutions organization, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO George Oliver.

"Over the last few years, we have been investing and building momentum in the data center market to establish Johnson Controls' leading position. It is clear our offering is resonating with customers, and we are now taking further steps to capture the growth opportunity ahead of us," said Oliver

While the unit is new, Johnson Controls has plenty of experience serving data centers.

JCI has developed a suite of products that can capitalize on the growing data center market, including:

·       Cooling: The vendor has developed a range of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers to support the continued growth in cooling demand;

·       R&D and testing capabilities: The company can help data center providers design, build, test and demonstrate the performance of equipment and accelerate the pace of innovation and

·       Building domain expertise: It can provide complete package solutions that drive outcomes while offering service to the asset's entire life cycle.

Grabowski comes to his new role with over 30 years of experience at Johnson Controls. He most recently served as vice president and general manager of HVACR and will continue to lead that portfolio in his expanded role. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.
