Approved Networks, a brand of Legrand, has released its OSFP 800G SR8 transceiver, providing a new solution for data centers and broadband providers to support data-intensive applications and enable real-time AI processing across networks.
The 800G optical transceiver boasts several new enhancements: higher bandwidth, real-time AI processing, and optimized data-centric applications.
"The demand for fast, data-driven connectivity is increasing,” said Brian Patton, VP of Engineering at Approved Networks. “Our 800G solution is a direct response to this challenge.”
This product reflects the growing need for 800G. According to a recent Valuates Reports report, the 800G Optical Transceiver Market was valued at $356 Million in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $898.6 million by 2029, witnessing a CAGR of 14% during the forecast period 2023-2029.
The research firm said the “exponential development of data traffic from cloud services, streaming, 5G, and Internet of Things applications is driving the market for 800 G optical transceivers. Data center settings are experiencing an increase in demand for larger bandwidth and faster data transfer rates.”
Also, the use of 800G transceivers is being accelerated by the advent of coherent optics and silicon photonics, which allow data center managers to efficiently handle the ever-increasing data traffic volumes while improving network performance and cutting operational expenses.
