Nominate someone for the 2024 FTTXcellence Award

April 1, 2024
Now in its 21st year, the FTTXcellence Awards recognizes an individual who has significantly advanced the deployment of fiber-optic access network technology in the Americas.

Corning Inc. (NYSE:GLW) and Lightwave have opened the nomination window for the 21st annual FTTXcellence Award. The award recognizes individuals who have sparked significant advancements in the deployment of fiber broadband networks in the Americas. Nominations will close at 11:59 PM EDT on May 17, 2024.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must be nominated by a peer. Nominees may include individuals at carriers and system operators, home developers, utilities, municipalities, or other organizations that have launched an FTTx project; individuals at vendors or research organizations whose work has benefited FTTx technology development; elected officials or policymakers who have made a significant positive impact in the regulatory or legal arena; and other deserving individuals. A panel of judges from Lightwave, Corning, and the Fiber Broadband Association will select the winner from the submitted nominations.

This year's award will be presented to the winner at the 2024 Fiber Connect conference, which will be held July 28-31, 2024, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. The winner will be honored with a donation in his or her name to US Ignite, a non-profit organization that is accelerating the smart city movement by guiding communities into the connected future, creating a path for private sector growth, and advancing technology research. The winner will also receive a decorative piece of Steuben glass and will be profiled by Lightwave.

The award portal provides additional information about the award in the award portal. Nominations can be made via the online nomination form.
