Big Pipe chooses FiberNet for metro transport services

June 11, 2004 New York, NY -- FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc. announced that Big Pipe Inc., a provider of data networking and Internet services to North American businesses, has selected FiberNet to provide electrical and optical broadband connectivity services within the key carrier hotels in New York City, including 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue.

June 11, 2004 New York, NY --FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc. announced that Big Pipe Inc., a provider of data networking and Internet services to North American businesses, has selected FiberNet to provide electrical and optical broadband connectivity services within the key carrier hotels in New York City, including 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue.

60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue are two of the pre-eminent carrier hotels in the world, serving as international hubs for over 100 telecommunications carriers, including the leading global service providers. Big Pipe will use these facilities to house its networking equipment and exchange data traffic with its IP peering and transit partners.

Big Pipe, a division of Shaw Communications, owns and operates a national fiber-optic backbone network, providing data networking and Internet services to North American businesses. In addition to being the primary Internet backbone for Shaw's broadband Internet customers, Big Pipe's services are available to Internet service providers, carriers, and large enterprises.

FiberNet has a fiber in-building network at 60 Hudson Street extending through diverse riser systems and operates the 60 Hudson Street Meet-Me-Room, the central, official interconnection and colocation facility in the building. In addition, FiberNet's network reach includes connections from 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue to the other major carrier hotels in New York to gain access to over 300 carriers. For customers requiring connectivity outside of its core metro markets, FiberNet's Network Solutions Division offers end-to- end network services for long-haul and metro applications.
