FEBRUARY 27, 2007 -- Contrary to what was reported in a previous story, Optical Entertainment Network has leased infrastructure from Eagle Broadband to support its new FISION services, rather than buying a network.

FEBRUARY 27, 2007 -- Contrary to what was reported in a story we posted February 22, Optical Entertainment Network (OEN; search for Optical Entertainment Network) did not buy a network in Houston to use in the rollout of its new FISION triple-play services. Instead, the company has leased the infrastructure from Eagle Broadband (search for Eagle Broadband).

Sources at Eagle pointed out their role in OEN's activities this morning. A spokeswoman for OEN confirmed that the service provider did lease network resources from Eagle in a deal that includes a 15-year right to buy the infrastructure. OEN has assumed operational, management, and control responsibilities for the infrastructure, according to the spokeswoman.
