January 10, 2006 Spartanburg, SC -- AFL Telecommunications has introduced its LightLink Poli-MOD, a patch and splice module that the company says provides an incremental platform for system growth.

Based on the company's LGX 118 footprint and compatible with the company's LanSystem Fiber Management System, the Poli-MOD platform supports up to 144 patch and splice configurations in a standard 4U panel, resulting in 1296 patch and splice locations within a 7-foot (38RU) rack.

According to the company, with front and rear accessibility, a secured environment for spliced fiber, and ease of fiber identification, the Poli-MOD platform allows for expansion in both new and existing systems. Available in single-slot (up to 12-fiber patch and splice) and double slot (up to 18-fiber patch and splice) configurations, the company says the Poli-MOD system allows for ease in incremental expansion without concerns of damaging or distributing existing components.

Key applications for the platform, according to the company, include telecommunications closets, data centers, cabinets, remote terminals, customer premise locations, central offices, as well as LAN/WAN and hub sites.

Compatible with all AFL LanSystem patch panels, the platform includes the module, cover, adapters, pigtails, splice sleeves, and all required hardware for installation, and is available in white or black, and singlemode or multimode configurations. The platform is available in SC and LC, with additional configurations available upon request.
