OCTOBER 29, 2008 -- T-Systems (search for T-Systems), the business customer segment of Deutsche Telekom, will expand its global telecommunications networks in six U.S. markets -- Denver, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle and Columbus, OH. T-Systems will use XO Communications (search for XO Communications), a provider of communications for business and communications service providers, to deliver market-based aggregation in these six markets.
"The expansion in these six key U.S. markets is a part of our strategy to expand our leadership position as a global business-to-business provider of telecommunications (TC) and information technology (IT) services to deliver converged network-centric information and communications technology, (ICT)," said Heike Auerbach, CEO, T-Systems of North America.
T-Systems owns and operates MPLS-based telecommunications networks with capabilities in over 50 countries. In addition to its proprietary network, T-Systems partners with service providers such as XO to extend its global reach. In addition to its global telecommunications presence, T-Systems also owns and operates over 70 global data centers for its B-to-B customers.
"The ability to bring access services into XO points of presence helps us reach our customer locations more cost effectively and efficiently," said Matt Plessing, head of telecom operations at T-Systems North America. "T-Systems is continuously working to enhance the network access requirements of our customers, enabling them to reach new markets and expand their U.S. presence."
