Arizona utility deploys Sycamore Networks crossconnect

NOVEMBER 4, 2008 -- Arizona Public Service (APS), Arizona's largest and longest-serving electric utility, is deploying the Sycamore DNX multiservice crossconnect platform.

NOVEMBER 4, 2008 -- Sycamore Networks Inc. (search for Sycamore) says that Arizona Public Service (APS), Arizona's largest and longest-serving electric utility, is deploying the Sycamore DNX multiservice crossconnect platform in the backbone of its voice and data communications infrastructure. APS will use the Sycamore equipment to enhance network reliability and improve bandwidth efficiencies.

APS serves about 1.1 million customers in 11 of the state's 15 counties.

The DNX-11/88 multiservice crossconnect platforms combine service interface density with intelligent bandwidth management features, enabling utility network operators to meet a broad range of aggregation and grooming applications, reduce network cost and complexity, and deliver resilient network services.
