Hamamatsu launches InGaAs ROSAs for high-speed transmission

Jan. 18, 2008
JANUARY 18, 2008 -- The G10342 series features an extremely high-speed response of up to 11.3 Gbits/sec, making it suitable for a variety of high-speed data transmission applications such as SDH (STM-64 or SONET OC-192), 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and storage area networks, say company representatives.

JANUARY 18, 2008 -- Hamamatsu Photonics (search for Hamamatsu) recently introduced its G10342 series 10-Gbit/sec InGaAs PIN photodiode receivers, which are mounted in industry-standard receiver optical sub-assembly (ROSA) packages.

According to the company, the G10342 series features an extremely high-speed response of up to 11.3 Gbits/sec, making it suitable for a variety of high-speed data transmission applications such as SDH (STM-64 or SONET OC-192), 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and storage area networks.

The ROSA package is compatible with industry-standard 10-Gbit/sec miniature devices such as XMD-MSA and is suitable for use in XFP transceivers. The G10342 is designed to operate at low voltage of 3.3 Volts and provides a differential output signal, which enables increased sensitivity and dynamic range for all 10-Gbit/sec applications.
