Cable-TV upgrade

Scripps Howard Inc., Cincinnati, plans to upgrade the cable-TV network of one of its subsidiaries, Sacramento Cable, with 250 to 350 route miles of fiber-optic cable. After the upgrade, the network will contain 500 to 600 route miles of fiber-optic cable. Scripps Howard plans to spend about $1 per foot on the upgrade and is using AT&T fiber-optic cable and fiber-optic glass, General Instrument radio-frequency electronics and Gould fiber-optic couplers.
