Model 2012/2022 synchronous fiber-optic modem incorporates direct-digital synthesizer technology, combined with singlemode fiber-optic lasers. This optical-modem link drives multimode- and singlemode-fiber spans to 5- and 40-km distances, respectively. Automatic operation makes synthesized clock recovery in the broadband optical receiver suitable for high-speed secure communications and mission-critical systems. Options extend the modem`s range to more than 400 Mbits/sec or below 4 Mbits/sec.
