Interferometer system

The automated connect-check interferometer system measures variations in the surface contours of PC polished fiber-optic connectors and analyzes their topography in three dimensions. The interferometer combines a Fabry-Perot microscope with a 486-based microcomputer, frame grabber and dedicated software. It measures fiber height to ۪.01 micron, and radius of curvature and eccentricity to tolerances of ۫.0 mm and 䔮.0 microns, respectively.
