Photonic switching systems

NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base, CA, has selected Boulder, CO-based Astarte Fiber Networks` Star-switch Model 7200 multimode fiber-optic photonic switching systems to address NASA`s fiber-optic switching requirements. The Star-switch systems will provide mission-critical network recovery and multi-local area network interconnect capabilities for NASA Dryden`s fiber-optic networks. Because of their photonic switching architecture, the systems will transmit data from high-speed computers, satellites, radar tracking installations and other internal LANs to mission control centers.
