Fiber-optic micromodems

Micromodems provide synchronous/asynchronous/isochronous full-duplex and simplex data transmission at speeds to 64 kbits/sec at distances to 2 km. Offered in 16 versions, the micromodems support RS-232 or RS-530 communications standards, data-communications- or data-terminal-equipment interfaces, and SMA and ST optical connectors. The devices operate over a 20-dB optical-link margin on 100/140-micron fiber at a bit-error rate greater than 10-9.

Prices start at $710.
