Thai superhighway

The Thai Ministry of Finance has established an information superhighway with the help of Racal-Datacom Inc.`s distributor in Thailand, Worachak International Co. Ltd. The company supplied Premnet, a fiber-optic backbone network for campus and metropolitan-area systems. Five local area networks were bridged by Sun Space 1000 internal bridges and hooked into a Unisys host mainframe. Premnet uses time-division multiplexing technology combined with software selectable bandwidth allocation.
