Modular distribution system

The Opticon modular distribution system manages fiber distribution, optical splitters and splicing in headends or hubs. The system is a single rack-height, front-access shelf for 19-inch racks used in cable-TV/video applications. Each shelf accommodates multiple components that manage 36 interconnection points, 36 heat-shrink fusion splices and 24 optical splitters. Shelves are ordered as single units preconnectorized with pigtails, or as multiple shelves prestubbed with connectorized outside-plant cables.
