Sept. 24, 2001
Sept. 24, 2001--Tdsoft and Allied Data announced certified interoperability between Tdsoft's Carrier-Class Voice Access Gateway, and Allied Data's Integrated Access Device for voice over broadband service delivery.

Tdsoft and Allied Data announced certified interoperability between Tdsoft's VoNGATE, a Carrier-Class Voice Access Gateway, and Allied Data's CopperJet 816, an Integrated Access Device (IAD) for voice over broadband service delivery. As a result, carriers have new capabilities for delivering multi-line packet voice services bundled with fast Internet access to small-medium sized businesses, SOHO, and residential customers.

Following the successful interoperability, Allied Data joined Tdsoft's VoNGA (Voice over Next Generation Access) partner program aimed at providing interoperable standard-based Voice-over-Broadband solutions.

Tdsoft's VoNGATE is a voice access gateway that enables incumbent and emerging carriers and telecom service providers to provide high-quality voice services over a variety of broadband access technologies such as xDSL, cable, and wireless. Being an open platform, the VoNGATE is capable of supporting a combination of PSTN switch interfaces, access infrastructures and access technologies at the same time. VoNGATE supports V5.2, GR303, TR 008, CAS or proprietary voice switch interfaces and next generation access networks based on cable, xDSL or broadband wireless infrastructure using ATM, IP and TDM access technologies. Currently, Tdsoft's VoNGA (Voice over Next Generation Access) partner program includes 30 telecom vendors that interoperate with the VoNGATE.

The development of the CopperJet 816 took eight months. The CopperJet 816 is based upon the VoDSL technology. The CopperJet 816 is a Voice over DSL (ATM AAL2) integrated access device and has demonstrated interoperability with BLES, Coppercom, Jetstream and TDSoft. More proprietary signalling systems will be added in the future. In case of a power failure the CopperJet 816 offers a Lifeline POTS facility. It is equipped with 4 POTS interfaces, which can be used for phone connectivity. Using the integrated residential exchange functions this modem can be used as a home PaBX as well. Herewith the CopperJet 816 is able to supply the Small- and Medium Business market a total package of data communication and telephony.
