Globix New York City data centers fully operational

Sept. 13, 2001
Sept. 13, 2001--Globix Corporation confirmed that its New York facilities located in lower Manhattan have been operational throughout the crisis at the World Trade Center.

Globix Corporation (Nasdaq: GBIX) confirmed that its New York facilities located in lower Manhattan at 139 Centre Street and 415 Greenwich Street have been operational throughout the crisis at the World Trade Center and continue to be staffed 24x7. To the best of the company's knowledge all Globix employees are safe and accounted for.

The Globix OC-48 network is also fully functional and operational, although some local access customers have experienced disruption due to the unfortunate damage to Verizon facilities in the immediate vicinity of the World Trade Center.

In accordance with the company's back-up customer service procedures, Globix immediately activated emergency call centers and Network Operations Centers in its UK and Santa Clara locations to ensure that customers who may be experiencing local telecommunications difficulties have access to technical assistance and support. Customers based in the United States in need of immediate technical service should dial 1-408-844-6020. If based in Europe, customers should dial 0800 085 6482 within the UK, or +44-207-908-8666 outside of the UK. Customers may also send an e-mail to Globix at [email protected].

"The Globix 24 x 7 staff has done a remarkable job in a tough situation. We are very proud of our team," said Peter Herzig, CEO of Globix. "Given the large number of employees we have in the New York area, many of whom have family and friends employed at the World Trade Center, this incomprehensible event has effected us deeply. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost friends and loved ones in this devastating tragedy. I would like to thank all of the suppliers and customers who have contacted us to inquire about the safety and welfare of Globix personnel located in downtown Manhattan."
