Finisar supports Intel InfiniBand test developer's kit

Aug. 29, 2001
Aug. 29, 2001--Finisar Corporation, a technology provider of gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data and telecommunication networks, announced an agreement to support Intel Corporation's InfiniBand Test Developer's Kit.

Finisar Corporation (Nasdaq: FNSR), a technology provider of gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data and telecommunication networks, announced an agreement to support Intel Corporation's InfiniBand Test Developer's Kit (TDK). Finisar claims its IBT InfiniBand Protocol Analyzers are the first to provide an available foundation for ensuring the compliance and interoperability demands of the InfiniBand specifications.

Finisar protocol analyzers will be coupled with Intel's Test Development Kit. The TDK runs turnkey suites and supports development and debug of customized tests. Finisar provides graphic user interfaces and text reports to allow for rapid access to the results. In addition, Finisar provides test configurations which include: capture filters, triggering conditions and viewer set ups, to aid in quickly collecting the results.

"InfiniBand architecture is a critical enabling technology for Internet Data Centers," said Jim Pappas, Director of Initiative Marketing for Intel's Enterprise Platform Group. "Finisar's use of the Intel TDK with their protocol analyzer platform should help speed industry development of InfiniBand products by offering powerful tools for InfiniBand compliance testing."
