NARUS Inc., a provider of business infrastructure systems and software for the Internet, announced that Williams Communications, a provider of broadband services for bandwidth-centric customers, will deploy NARUS systems and solutions throughout its entire network infrastructure. Williams Communications is the owner and operator of the largest next-generation fiber-optic network in the United States.

Williams plans to deliver new services, such as usage-based billing, and provide customers with tailored services, according to Joe Turcotte, senior vice president of access and IP services for Williams Communications' network unit.

Williams will deploy NARUS Internet business infrastructure platform and software throughout its network, giving Williams complete visibility into network, services and customer activities. These capabilities will allow Williams to launch further service offerings driven by the ability to intelligently collect and act upon critical usage information from NARUS' unique Semantic Traffic Analysis technology foundation.

Moreover, Williams' implementation of the NARUS Billing Mediation System, which drives key billing applications with accurate, complete usage information from IP networks, will facilitate Williams' ability to develop value-based business models for digital content distribution (such as video and audio), Web commerce, application hosting, messaging services, and other value-added services.
