28 April 2003 Arlington, Va.--At SuperComm 2003, to be held 1-5 June in Atlanta, Ga., the Ethernet in the First Mile Alliance SUPERDemo will include technologies for Ethernet service delivery in subscriber access networks and product demonstrations highlighting the IEEE p802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile project.

The EFM project includes solutions for first-mile services over both fibre and copper; and work dedicated to enhancing Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) characteristics of Ethernet. Member companies with products in each of these four areas will exhibit real-world EFM deployment scenarios.

The EFMA was founded by leading network infrastructure and service providers to promote the use of Ethernet in the First Mile subscriber access networks and support the IEEE P802 standard process.

Member companies include: Accton, Agere Systems, Analog Devices, Broadcom, Cisco Systems, ElectriPHY, Ericsson, Extreme Networks, Harmonic, Hatteras Networks, Infineon Technologies, Intel, Metalink Broadband Access, NTT, Panasonic Semiconductor Development Company, Paradyne, Passave and Spirent Communications.

The EFMA demonstration is one of eight SUPERDemos featured on the SUPERCOMM exhibition floor. The other technology demonstrations will be presented by the following organisations:
- BCD Forum: Broadband Content Delivery Forum
- MPLS: Multiprotocol Label Switching Forum
- IPCC: International Packet Communications Consortium
- MEF: Metro Ethernet Forum
- OIF: Optical Internetworking Forum
- RPR Alliance: Resilient Packet Ring Alliance
- SIP Forum: Session Initiation Protocol Forum

SuperComm 2003 is being held 1-5 June at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information about the event, visit www.supercomm2003.com
