Silicon pin photodiodes

The bpw surface-mount silicon photodiodes are available in three light transmitting epoxy packages. The bpw-34sm is clear, for wavelengths from 350 to 1100 nm; the bpw-34frsm is red, for wavelengths from 600 to 1100 nm; and the bpw-34fsm transmits only in the near-IR, from 800 to 1100 nm. They all contain a pin photodiode with an active area of 7.1 mm2, exhibiting a maximum dark current of 30nA at 10V and a capacitance of 15pf at 10V. These parts can be supplied in bulk or on tape and reel for automatic assembly. There are 2000 parts per reel.
