The Department of Justice and Techniarts Engineering of Washington, DC, have chosen Multidyne as a prime vendor for fiber-optic equipment for the new Department of Justice, Briefing and Conference Center. As part of the renovation of the historic Robert F. Kennedy Building, the new briefing and conference facility has been designated to serve as the site for the Attorney General's press conferences and live interviews with the major television news media anchors.
The media system enables up to 12 broadcast pool and independent video feeds to be
monitored simultaneously and routed via outbound fiber through the Washington AVOC to the broadcast networks.
The Multidyne DVM2200 video, audio, data and SDI fiber-optic transport system was chosen for its low cost, performance and support of both analog video and SDI. The system automatically switches between analog video and SDI, making it future-proof. It also provides a 12-bit video transport with a signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dBs.
In a second contract win, a consortium of news agencies and network news bureaus in the Washington, DC, area chose Multidyne as their prime vendor for a collective major purchase of over 80 fiber-optic transport systems. The fiber-optic equipment will be used to connect the electronic news media and ENG vehicles to the local telephone company's fiber-optic network.
The Multidyne DVM2000 video, audio and data fiber-optic transport system was chosen for its small size and low cost. The system provides a 12-bit video transport with a signal-to-noise ratio of 75 dBs. The fiber-optic upgrade is part of a massive renovation and addition of the Capitol Visitors Center at the U.S. Capitol Building. The Capitol Visitors Center will make the U.S. Capitol more accessible, comfortable, secure, and informative for all visitors.
