8 July 2002 -- Lucent Technologies Inc has supplied Dublin-based Irish service provider eircom with its NavisRadius authentication server and supporting services to enhance its business IP-based services, such as global roaming and secure corporate network access via virtual private network (VPN) services and managed Internet access.

NavisRadius provides a range of customer authentication, authorisation and accounting tools available for remote access, says Lucent. The solution will form part of eircom's IP dial access network upgrade, which should initially result in a 30% increase in remote access capacity while offering a broader range of IP-based services.
