Touch America, a national fiber-optic network and services company, is providing broadband transport to Internap Network Services Corp., a leading provider of intelligent routing services over the Internet. Touch America's private line services allow Internap to expand its presence to more than a dozen additional cities.

While Internap offers its premium connectivity in many major metropolitan areas, it is not yet available everywhere in the U.S. With the Touch America relationship, Internap can meet the service demands of multi-site enterprise customers with additional locations in its expanded coverage area, say company representatives. Touch America offers broadband services via long-haul Touch America connections to those cities from domestic Internap Service Points, enabling Internap to meet its customers' connectivity needs.

"Touch America offers a low-cost, scalable, state-of-the-art backbone network for Internet service providers," explains Steve Maederer, Touch America's vice president of sales. "We're delighted Internap has selected our stable network to serve its customers, and we're excited to partner with them. Touch America extends Internap's service at no incremental capital investment, allowing Internap to reach more than a dozen new markets."
