4 December 2002 -- At the Lightspeed Europe conferernce in London, Meriton Networks Inc announced a European channel partner agreement with Pan Dacom Networking AG of Germany.
Pan Dacom is a system-integrator and provider of professional services for telecom and networking solutions. It will re-sell the suite of Meriton Networks products throughout Europe, including flagship products the 7200 OADX (Optical Add/Drop Switch) and 8600 NMS (Network Management System). Pan Dacom also represents vendors such as Cisco Systems, Redback Networks, Lucent Technologies, Nortel Networks and Marconi, and is a developer of networking accessory products.
"The solutions of Meriton Networks allow our customers to offer cost-efficient and transparent bandwidth services," said Pan Dacom's president and CEO Klaus Busch.
"Interest in the 7200 OADX by European carriers has far exceeded our expectations and as a result, we have accelerated our expansion plans," said Meriton's president Mike Gassewitz.
Meriton says that more carriers are seeking alternatives to OADMs to overcome deployment issues regarding cost, scalability, link engineering, power balancing, and ring interconnection. The 7200 OADX is a new type of metro networking equipment that enables carriers to add capacity while reducing costs and simplifying operations. As a transparent integrated switching and transport system, the 7200 OADX meets the growing demand for high-bandwidth services such as OC-n/SDH services, wavelengths, optical Ethernet, SANs and other data services using the same ports and facilities.
* Pan Dacom Networking AG and Meriton Networks will be exhibiting together at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, 12-19 March 2003 (Hall 13, Booth C47).
