TeleCential, which recently integrated with U.K. telecommunications network operator Comtel, awarded dsc Communications Corp. of Plano, TX, contracts to upgrade its Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy network and supply sdh transmission systems throughout its franchise areas. The sdh order brings the total commitment from Comtel for dsc`s sdh systems to more than $32 million. The network upgrade is expected to provide TeleCential with the flexibility to introduce advanced services while evolving its network infrastructure. The contracts also include hardware and network management software systems.
