FaciliCom International,

Washington, DC, has thrown its hat into the European telecommunications ring. The company will provide facilities-based service to Europe via a recently activated international gateway in London. The new London facility features a Nortel dms Global Service Platform. FaciliCom owns fiber capacity on the Globesystem and tat-12 transatlantic cable systems and is a signatory on the Fiberoptic Link Around the Globe (flag) project. The company also owns facilities in Sweden and plans to install international gateway switches in at least four other cities--Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, and Paris--this year. A gateway in Copenhagen is currently under development and is expected to be in service during the fourth business quarter.
