Electric Lightwave Inc. (eli) of Vancouver, WA, has received certification from the Public Service Commission of Nevada to provide intrastate exchange and telecommunications services, including basic local exchange service, within the state of Nevada. eli has provided telecommunications services in Nevada since January 1995 through its Southwest FiberNet connection to Phoenix, AZ. The company plans to build a Las Vegas metropolitan fiber-optic network and install a local and long-distance switch. The initial phase of the network will serve the central business district.
