Fiber line interface unit

The fiber line interface unit lets users connect the company`s D/I Mux III directly to a fiber-optic cable at T1 speeds, without an external fiber modem. It uses two fibers of a singlemode cable--one to transmit and one to receive--and comes with a standard ST interface. The D/I Mux III multiplexer integrates voice, data, and video transmissions onto a single T1 circuit. Interchangeable channel cards fit into modular slots on the unit, letting users mix and match services, including video transmission, voice, low-speed data, Switched 56, fractional T1, and isdn.
