Fiber identifier

The Photodyne 8000XGT fiber identifier identifies and tests traffic in 250-micron, 990-micron, ribbon, 2.5- and 3-mm fiber for construction or maintenance in outside plant, cable-TV, or premises wiring applications. After insertion, the fiber is held in place during testing, allowing hands-free operation. Tone and signal messages are displayed on LED panels. For network troubleshooting, the unit identifies when a signal is modulated at 1 or 2 kHz. The self-contained unit weighs less than 1 lb and is operated by a 9V alkaline battery.
