Ciena Corp., Savage, MD, has signed a contract with WorldCom Inc., to be its exclusive supplier of dense wavelength-division multiplexing systems through 1997. With these systems, WorldCom can expand its 12,000-mile fiber-optic network bandwidth capacity sixteenfold.
