Ridgemount’s LC-QR™ (Quick Release) is a simplex LC connector with a unique patented front body latch.

Ridgemount’s LC-QR™ (Quick Release) is a simplex LC connector with a unique patented front body latch. LC-QR™ disconnects from a standard LC adaptor under cable loading or accidental snagging to protect the cable assembly and the equipment adaptor. It is designed to disengage at loads up to 25N and disconnect at loads as low as ~5N when snagged. Available as PC or APC for a variety of fiber and cable sizes, the LC-QR™ is ideal for use where it is essential for the assembly to dis-connect before the jumper or equipment is permanently damaged. VM02 (Virgin Media) in the UK has now specified this connector for use with its in-home patch cords.

Judge’s Comment: “The LC-QR is a great reminder that an innovation doesn't have to be complex to be very effective.”
