Datalec Precision Installations (DPI) debuts in-house electronic security service

Dec. 5, 2023
The company said that this platform can simplify security provisioning.

Datalec Precision Installations (DPI), a provider of data center design, supply, build, and support services, expanded its capabilities by introducing in-house Electronic Security services. This move will provide clients with a solution that eliminates the disruption often associated with third-party security provision.

DPI's in-house Electronic Security capability offers clients enterprise security systems, which can be pre-configured and pre-installed to its solutions, alongside other bespoke offerings. In contrast to industry norms relying on third-party providers, DPI's approach ensures a seamless and unified experience for data center operators.

Instead of installing security when a project is completed, DPI's integrated approach incorporates security into the primary general contractor contract delivery. This proactive strategy addresses typical project creep associated with Ready for Service Dates (RFSD), overcoming security issues, ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery, and meeting the high standards expected by clients.

Leading the initiative is Glenn Stephenson, who recently joined the company as its new operations director for electronic security. A 30-year security industry veteran, Stephenson brings experience and a proven successful project management and operational leadership record.

As operations director, Stephenson will spearhead the delivery of electronic security solutions for data centers across the EMEA region. He will play a role in ensuring the seamless execution of projects. Additionally, he provides support in Tender Returns and assists Project Managers with Final Account meetings.

“This is a one-stop-shop for design, manufacturing, installation, security, and managed services,” Stephenson said. “Having manufacturing capacity in-house, Datalec is poised to overcome security disruptions and issues, ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery to the exacting standards clients expect.”
