Better Technology. Better Workforce.

July 21, 2021

UCL Swift's unique All-In-One (AIO) technology is designed to perform all five major splicing functions systematically: stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing and protecting. Housing all five elements in one unit eliminates chronic issues common with conventional mechanical connectors, including low quality, weak durability and high maintenance costs. For those and other reasons, AIO technology has been embraced by hiring managers, trainers, installation supervisors and workforce managers as it has positively impacted workforces in the following ways:

  • Enabling new hires to quickly ramp up from training to production
  • Appealing to the younger workforce by enabling the use of technology vs. tedious repetition
  • Extending the capabilities and adding years of service to technicians approaching the end of their career
  • Increasing the overall quality of a workforce’s output
  • Better defining clear installation metrics and installation times

AIO technology enables workforces to install and support networks more successfully and efficiently, further elevating fiber service providers abilities. When there is a fiber outage due to weather or accidents, some large customers have Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that qualify them to credit for not having service. In most cases, these agreements are enforced on an hourly basis. Having a workforce that responds quickly helps reduce the downtimes, reducing or eliminating SLA penalties.

UCL Swift is not the only company with this splice-on connector technology. But, our unique solution is more cost-effective than other options, especially when the yield ratio is examined. Yield ratio is defined by how many connectors are wasted due to technician damage and waste during the installation process. We are proud to have the lowest yield ratio in the marketplace due to our innovative design.

The future of fiber optic technology is anything but stagnant. With AIO technology, we see how constant innovation enhances equipment performance, workforce longevity and company bottom lines. Progress like this is what UCL Swift has always been committed to and will remain dedicated to providing.
