AUGUST 6, 2009 -- The deep version of the COYOTE MPC (Multi-Purpose Closure) is designed to provide a second flexible platform that continues to address the multitude of applications existing in residential and commercial FTTx installations.

AUGUST 6, 2009 -- Preformed Line Products (PLP; search Lightwave for PLP) has unveiled an addition to its fiber optics family. The deep version of the COYOTE MPC (Multi-Purpose Closure) is designed to provide a second flexible platform that continues to address the multitude of applications existing in residential and commercial FTTx installations. Its greater depth -- 7 inches (16 inches long x 14 inches wide x 7 inches deep) versus the 4 inches provided by the standard MPC -- provides more interior space for adapting to a wide range of applications. The interior can be configured to address slack storage, splicing, cross connect, hardened adapter applications, or a combination of all.

The MPC accepts PLP's grommet system as well as standard commercially available fittings. Eight cable entrance ports are available around the closure exterior. The closure is constructed of a durable, UV-stabilized polymer compound that PLP says provides the highest flame resistant rating available. The unit's integrated rubber door seal eliminates water entry, PLP adds. The MPC's neutral exterior color is designed to enable the closure to blend with its surroundings.

Tested in accordance to elements of the Telcordia GR-771-CORE specification, the closure also offers NEMA4 performance. It is manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 procedures to assure quality.
