6 March 2003 -- Grenoble-based Teem Photonics, which provides ultra-compact photonic solutions for high-bandwidth optical networks, has joined the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council.

Formed in 2001, the FTTH Council educates, promotes and accelerates the investment in fibre-to-the-home technology. Teem joins an 80-member roster of equipment manufacturers, integrators and service providers.

"For FTTH to emerge as the primary delivery system of broadband services will require educating companies involved in broadband access at every level," says Teem's CEO Antoine Kévorkian. "As a fibre-optic component manufacturer, we will be supporting the FTTH council's effort by having readily available innovative and reliable solutions that address last-mile network designer issues."

Teem Photonics manufactures passive products, including planar splitters, for deployment in FTTx-PON architectures as well as in central office or outside plant for broadband signal distribution applications.
