Vodacom partners with Lite Access Technologies do-it-yourself FTTH

Fiber to the home (FTTH) connectivity technology provider Lite Access Technologies (CSE:LTE)(OTC PINK:LTCCF) says it has received a purchase order from South African network operator Vodacom for elements of the company's Lite X Tend FTTH cabling line. Lite Access expects the order, worth $2,005,877 Rand ($132,575), will be the first of a series.

Fiber to the home (FTTH) connectivity technology provider Lite Access Technologies (CSE:LTE)(OTC PINK:LTCCF) says it has received a purchase order from South African network operator Vodacom for elements of the company's Lite X Tend FTTH cabling line. Lite Access expects the order, worth $2,005,877 Rand ($132,575), will be the first of a series.

Lite Access won the order in collaboration with certified sales and installation partner Brite Access (Pty) Ltd. The deal covers connection of the first 1,125 homes of an overall 270,000 targeted footprint within the next three to five years. The products Lite Access will provide include a home-drop solution designed in collaboration with Vodacom, which is majority owned by Vodafone.

The company says its Lite X Tend line enables do-it-yourself home owner installation, rather than a reliance on skilled splicers and technicians.

"Necessity has always been a key driver of innovation," says Mike Plotnikoff, CEO of Lite Access. "Now, for the first time in our industry, and without the need for the specialized splicing expertise normally required, a home or building owner can install where they like, how they like, and have total control of the installation."

Plotnikoff asserts that operators outside of South Africa have shown significant interest in the Lite X Tend line.
