December 6, 2002-- Pathway Com-Tel, a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) based in Joshua, TX, has awarded a contract to Optical Solutions Inc. (www.opticalsolutions.com) for the deployment of the latter's FiberPath 400 fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) system into several communities in Texas. Pathway Com-Tel has previously deployed Optical Solutions' FiberPath gear to communities in the Joshua and Burleson, TX, area.
Pathway Tel-Com will use the equipment to deliver voice, video, and high-speed data services to residents of Mountain Valley Lakes, Willow Creek, and Oak Trail Estates. The fiber-optic network system will be used to provide communications services to homes, businesses, schools and offices, including Pathway Com-Tel's headquarters in Joshua.
"We have been impressed with Optical Solutions' equipment and customer support over the years since our original installation of FiberPath 2.0 in 1998," said Kirk Petty, general manager of Pathway Com-Tel. "FiberPath has been a key reason behind the selling success of the Mountain Valley Lakes neighborhood. The developers and the residents should be pleased about the expanded capacity and service capabilities of the FiberPath 400 series."
"Pathway Com-Tel is providing state-of-the-art broadband communications to an underserved area," said Peter Jew, vice president of marketing at Optical Solutions Inc. "We are excited to be working with Pathway Com-Tel in bringing the power of fiber optics to more communities in Texas."
