The broadband services provider has targeted Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Nanticoke for FTTP deployments that Empire Access expects will be completed this fall.

Empire Access has revealed plans to further expand its fiber to the premises (FTTP) footprint in Northeast Pennsylvania. The broadband services provider has targeted Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Nanticoke for FTTP deployments that Empire Access expects will be completed this fall.

The company says it will use the FTTP network to offer residents and businesses gigabit broadband, video, phone, and security services. This last product line includes IoT security, home automation, and 24/7 video monitoring. Empire Access says it will offer customers the ability to remotely lock and unlock doors, control appliances, control climate, and manage security from their computers or smart devices. Business offerings will include enterprise WiFi, fire walls, business email, audio and video conferencing, dark fiber, and metro Ethernet.

“The demand for reliable Internet access drives us to continue expanding to communities in need,” said Jim Baase, CEO at Empire Access. “We believe that each community is critical to what we do, and we take pride in our local support teams. By keeping our customer service and construction at the local level, we stay closely connected to the communities we are a part of. Unlike many of our competitors, our customers will not see sudden price increases. We firmly offer the best Internet at an affordable price. We are excited to welcome Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Nanticoke to the Empire Access family!”

Founded in 1896 and headquartered in Prattsburgh, NY, Empire Access has embarked on several expansion initiatives across communities in upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania since it closed on a majority investment from funds controlled by Antin Infrastructure Partners this past January (see “Antin Infrastructure Partners completes purchase of FTTH broadband providers Empire Access and North Penn” and "Empire Access to continue FTTP expansion with deployment in Carbondale, PA").
