OFS InvisiLight Facade targets outdoor fiber cabling of low-rise, garden-style dwellings

OFS has expanded its InvisiLight portfolio of multiple dwelling unit (MDU) fiber-optic cabling technologies with the InvisiLight Façade Solution. InvisiLight Façade addresses requirements for outdoor fiber cabling for low-rise buildings or garden style dwelling units.

OFS has expanded its InvisiLight portfolio of multiple dwelling unit (MDU) fiber-optic cabling technologies with the InvisiLight Façade Solution. InvisiLight Façade addresses requirements for outdoor fiber cabling for low-rise buildings or garden style dwelling units.

InvisiLight Façade indoor/outdoor cabling comes in counts of 12 or 24 EZ-Bend optical fibers, which offers a 2.5-mm bend radius. The higher-count cable has a diameter of 3.0 mm, the other 3.8 mm. Both can come preterminated or in a form for connectorization onsite with a fusion splice or mechanical fiber-optic connector.

OFS says the cabling system is designed for two installation options. In the first, installers connect the fiber cables to an outdoor building terminal, usually located at the building's base, and then vertically on the face of the building into the attic, where they connect to a distribution terminal. Alternatively, the cable can be placed along the building facade using clips, passing each living unit with compact slack loops placed outside or inside the unit. In either case, final connections can be made using other elements of the InvisiLight line.

OFS will display the InvisiLight Façade Solution and the other members of the InvisiLight family at Fiber Connect 2017 in Orlando, FL, June 12 and 13 at Booth 601.
