Optical demarcation enclosure suits FTTX, MDU apps

June 23, 2005 Franklin, TN -- From AFL Telecommunications, the OptiNID(OPN)-1224 is an optical demarcation enclosure designed for use in either indoor or outdoor environments. The enclosure can house up to 24 bulkhead adapters in two of the company's 118 LGX-compatible adapter plates, and comes equipped with a splice tray, which holds up to 24 single fusion splices.

June 23, 2005 Franklin, TN -- From AFL Telecommunications, the OptiNID (OPN)-1224 is an optical demarcation enclosure designed for use in either indoor or outdoor environments. The enclosure can house up to 24 bulkhead adapters in two of the company's 118 LGX-compatible adapter plates, and comes equipped with a splice tray, which holds up to 24 single fusion splices.

Key features of the enclosure include a weather-resistant thermoplastic alloy, a self-latching, hinged cover design to enable easy access without loose parts, self-sealing individual entrance ports to prevent water and insects from entering the enclosure, and front cover space reserved for custom logos.

The OPN-1224 can be either wall or pole-mounted. Common applications include providing optical demarcation points in multi-dwelling units (MDUs).
