CommScope announced the integration of its AgileMax active optical distribution technology with its FDH3000 fiber distribution hub and integrated splitter cabinet designed to simplify RF-over-glass (RFoG) installations. The FDH3000 enables hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) operators to install the complete AgileMax platform into an existing fiber distribution hub (FDH) location to improve network upstream and downstream capacity and data speeds.

The cabinet supports standard 19-inch rack-mounted equipment using a patented swing-frame design to house the AgileMax active splitter technology and additional passive products for maximum flexibility, says CommScope. As a result, operators can deploy an end-to-end, fully tested, and integrated cabinet without reliance on third-party vendors – lowering capital expenses and ensuring optimum performance.

“The FDH3000 AgileMax cabinet is a turnkey solution for our HFC customers looking to eliminate OBI [optical beat interference] from their RFoG existing installations and improve network capacity and data speeds,” says Kevin Keefe, senior vice president and segment leader for broadband networks at CommScope.

The FDH3000 AgileMax cabinet will be directly available to CommScope customers this month.
